Heath Ledger Found Dead In NY

This is a time of great mourning. No, not because Gossip Girl is on hiatus but because the Entertainment business has lost one of its finest.
It is a painful task to report that Heath Ledger (widely acclaimed actor for his performance in Brokeback Mountain) has passed away.
“NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there found him dead at 3:26 p.m.”
An FDNY spokesperson said he was dead on arrival. They no longer had to transport him to the hospital. One fire truck and one ambulance responded to a 911 call.
TMZ previously reported that he died on Mary Kate Olsen’s apartment and that the cause of his death was drug abuse. However, an NYPD spokesperson has made it clear that he wasn’t found at Mary Kate’s apartment and that his death was purely accidental. He was apparently suffering from Pneumonia.
Here is a video of his body being escorted outside his apartment building. The medical examiner said the autopsy will be completed Wednesday afternoon.
“Ex-fiancee and the mother to his child Michelle Williams is on a plane rushing to NY and is reportedly devastated. She has been on location in Sweden, and it is believed Matilda is with her.”
The news came as a great shock to many, most especially his fans who were anticipating his appearance on The Dark Knight, the batman sequel, as the legendary Joker.
Fellow Australians and celebrities like Mel Gibson and Nicole Kidman have expressed their sadness over his passing.
A statement was also given by his family:
We, Heath’s family, confirm the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda, who was found in a peaceful sleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper at 3:30 p.m. (EST),” his father, Kim, read while accompanied by mother Sally and Ledger’s sister, Katie.
“We would like to thank our friends and everyone around the world for their kind wishes at this time.
“Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life, but few had the pleasure to truly know him.
“He was a down-to-earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving and unselfish individual who was an extreme inspiration to many.
“Please now respect our family’s need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately.”
The fans of Gossip Girl offer our condolensces to the actor’s family.

Its really sad to hear we lost this shinning star. He will be missed. My hear goes out to his friends and family at this time.
It’s really sad. He truly was one of the best and he had so much to give!! His smile lightened up every room!!
I just can’t stop thinking about his family and his little daughter!!! The loss of a beloved person is the most tragic thing in life and I can only feel for them!!
Heath will be missed and definitely not forgotten!!

I still cant believe it. It feels so unreal. Still. A week is over now, and it just feels so unreal.
Hopefully his family and friends will get through this as good as possible, my thoughts go out to them!
I did not know the guy that much. But his name is familiar to me. I just can not believe this is happening. He was a great actor.
I am definitely going to see his last movie.
